#1 Don’t hit the snooze button of your alarm clock in the morning.

But morning sleeps, they are so heavenly. We lazy people just don’t want to get out of the cozy and comfy bed. And that’s where we commit our first mistake. WE HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON. We go back to sleep and lose all our alertness our brain prepared us with. We wake up later, tired and befuddled. Worst of all that tiredness and grogginess take hours to leave us ruining our most important time of our day, our morning.
#2 Putting off difficult task.
It’s very natural and it happens with almost everyone, we tend to put off the difficult tasks because we think that completing those easy tasks before will reduce the ‘to-do list’ and we will feel little relaxed. But here is where we commit our second mistake. Our brain’s efficiency reduces over time and its lowest in the night, so automatically that tough task becomes more harder and it bores us to bone. As a result, our to-do list remains uncompleted.
#3 Avoid multitasking
Multitasking is a real productivity killer. Research conducted at the Stanford University confirms that multitasking is less productive than doing a single thing at a time. The researchers found that people who are regularly bombarded with several streams of electronic information cannot pay attention, recall information, or switch from one job to another as well as those who complete one task at a time. When you try to do two things at once, your brain lacks the capacity to perform both tasks successfully.

#4 Avoid morning rush
In busy life like we have, morning rush have become a part of our routine. We don’t have time for exercise because we are already late to school, college or office. Who cares to have a proper breakfast when he’s dreading a scolding, right? These morning rush have a very negative impact on our whole day. I mean when you have started your day with irritation, how you expect it to end. Starting of a day is very important, try to make it more relaxing and easy. All you’ve to do is wake up little earlier.
#5: Avoid gossiping as much as possible.
Gossips, everyone loves to hear rumors and some also love to spread it. Gossips are one of the biggest wastage of time. “What did peter said?”, “Why Lisa is after John so desperately?”, or “Why Mathew kicked Jonathan’s A$#?” won’t get you anywhere. Its human nature, we enjoy gossips but they are completely useless firstly because they aren’t useful to us in any way possible, secondly they just waste a lot of time. Moreover, what’s the guarantee that the person bitching about someone else in front of you won’t do the same for you in front of someone else? So always try to maintain a distance from such rumors.
#6 Don’t skip your breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as told by Lisa De Fazio, a healthy lifestyle expert, and dietician. If your body is stuffed well with healthy food, your mind will function well as it will get the fuel it needs. Your body metabolism depends on it and it recharges blood-sugar level so that you can focus more on work and be more productive.
#7 Don’t say yes to everything.
Ever felt trapped under the humongous weight of work? Felt like your life is hell? Ever found yourself cornered in an ugly altercation? Tight schedule that left you really, really tired?
If yes, then congrats, it was all done by your mistake. Yes, yours, because you don’t know yet how to say “NO” to things. If you want to lead a happy life, you’ve got to learn to say no. Say NO to people who cleverly lay their work on your back, say NO to conversations that you feel can result in a spat, most importantly learn to say NO to yourself, if you think that you can’t handle that much work in a single day then just pass it to next day, keep yourself relaxed. It seems like doing all the work in one day will increase the productivity, but complete opposite of this notion happens. It reduces our productivity by 83% because it leaves us really tired mentally.
#8 Plan your schedule and have a TO-DO list
You are probably setting up a disaster for yourself, if you are just working whenever you feel like. In such cases, most of the time when you don’t feel like working, you would lag behind with the tasks, thus degrading your productivity. Having a fix work routine will put in a sense of familiarity as you finish your task and you already know what is next.

If we strictly analyze the time we spend on social media, we will find that most of it is waste. Many a times we take 5 minutes break from studies or work which extend to 55 minutes commenting “LOL” or “LMFAO” on memes. Just for the fact, don’t hate me but most of the admin of big meme pages actually don’t have a life and they are FOREVER ALONE! It’s not that I don’t like memes or facts, I do like them but I do not let them suck my most important and limited asset, my time. Social media and internet are wonderful tool if used in a correct manner. If used in a limit, they can turn to be our biggest source to earn knowledge and stay updated globally.
